Today's Message: Disconnected | Mark Tawlks

Stanford University researchers found that 42 percent of the U.S. labor force was working from home full time.

In one County these are the statistics from the educational system:

• F grades are up 90%
• D grades are up 77%
• Failing a grade up 38%

According to Tulane University, communication via social media helps some people stay connected to others, but it can lead to isolation if it becomes a substitute for meaningful conversations and in-person socialization.

1 Peter 5:8

How does being disconnected threaten my destiny?

Just as you have a destiny as an individual, Community has a destiny the Rock has a destiny. They are all inexorably linked.

To tweak a phrase by someone else, you will only be as effective as the family you surround yourself with.

Sacrifice your wants for someone else's needs.

• If 40 people deny themselves a coffee drink once a week at a cost of $5.00 a cup = $200 per week x 4 weeks=$800 per month.  
• If 40 people deny themselves a lunch meal out once a week at $8.00 per meal = $320 per week x 4 weeks=$1,280 per month.
