Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour.

Smartphone Promise: Connection, Productivity, & Information.
Social Media Promise: Connection, Productivity, & Influence.

​Since the advent of the smartphone over THREE BILLION people globally use this new technology. 

• Worldwide, more people now own a cell phone than a toothbrush.
• The average time spent on smartphones is approximately 3 hours a day
• The average user will tap, swipe, and click their phone 2,617 times a day.

• Millennials spend slightly more time on their phones (5.7 hours) compared to baby boomers (5 hours) on average.

47% of US smartphone users say they couldn’t live without their devices.
 
"Nomophobia" = (No Mobile Phone Phobia) is one of the most common symptoms.

Symptoms of Nomophobia

• tightness in your chest
• trouble breathing normally
• trembling or shaking
• increased sweating
• feeling faint, dizzy, or disoriented
• rapid heartbeat

Our DEVICE has become a VICE. 

The Smartphone Result: Disconnected, Distracted, & Depressed.

What Can You Do?

• Digital Diet = 5:2 (five days on screen, two days off screen).
• Weekend Detox = Delete all email and social media apps from your phone. 
• Other Ideas = Go outside, buy a real camera, buy a real alarm clock.
