Letting Go And Moving Forward | Bob Hasty

Taking ground implies forward motion, pursuit, possession, advancement, progress in any and every area of your life.

Ecclesiastes 7:10  - Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 - Better is the end of a thing than its beginning.

Philippians 3:8 - More than that, I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and I regard them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ .

Philippians 3:12 - Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.

Philippians 3:13-15 - 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us who are mature think this way,

Your past was always meant to be:
  • Celebrated
  • Grieved
  • Understood
  • Learned from

Forgiveness is the key to moving forward

  1. Forgiveness has to do with the past. Forgiveness is not holding something someone has done against them. It is letting it go.
  2. Reconciliation has to do with the present. It means the other person apologizes and accepts forgiveness. It takes two to reconcile.
  3. Trust has to do with the future. It means the other person has demonstrated through his/her behavior that they are worthy of your trust. While forgiveness is freely offered, trust must be earned.
